About this project

This project was started as an effort to provide both an easy resource for Cincinnati residents to find the closest farmers market, and as an opportunity for less connected markets to gain an internet presence. Since local eating is gaining in popularity and many folks are seeing the need to eat more sustainably and know more about their food, this information is important to share.

Cincinnatifarmersmarkets.org was started in 2006 to meet the need for individual markets to be able to reach potential attendees. It is an all-volunteer project currently. Much of the information came from an assortment of sources, including the Cincinnati Locavore list, the Cincinnati Locavore blog, the Nutrition Council, CinciMoms, Local Harvest, and the Kentucky Department of Agriculture among others. It is possible that markets have closed or moved, and if you have news or updates about your local market, please contact info@cincinnatifarmersmarkets.org.
